Every SEO, content marketing manager, and copywriter should be proficient in content outlining and concept generation.

Research your keyword for SEO writing

Finding a target keyword (or writing topic) to pursue is the first step in the process. Many writers choose to write on subjects they believe their target audience will be interested in, ignoring the need to conduct keyword research.

The problem is, that you might not always be correct in your own opinion.

Not just SEOs should conduct keyword research. It's essential to any writing process because it makes it easier to determine the demand for certain subjects.

If you aren't making an effort to determine what kind of content your audience is already interested in, you are failing them.

The first step is to use a keyword research tool. I have a suggestion for you. I used the tool when I was researching keywords for this topic. I usually prefer Semrush.

I wrote articles about keyword research and other things related to content writing and marketing them in different channels.

Make an attractive title

Things start to come together in this subsequent step of our content outline procedure.

You have two options for this section: use a Google Doc or create your outline in Surfer SEO. I'm planning to collaborate with an outside writer using a Google Doc. In the section of this post titled "Start writing," I'll also walk you through integrating Surfer SEO into your Google Doc.

Nevertheless, that is untrue. A low ranking could be the result of many more complex factors unrelated to your title. But your readers and your desire to appeal to them should take center stage

Collect information from reliable sources

After completing your initial research and choosing a title, it's time to begin gathering the data you'll need for your piece.

Here's a three-step method: Look for Corresponding Documents:

When you begin writing, make sure you have facts, quotes, videos, and other resources to back up your claims and arguments. This will help you avoid making assumptions.

Use Google to Gain More Understanding:

Use Google search to do more research than you did initially. You can use Keyword Planner to explore the subjects covered by the top search engine results, find potential audience queries, find out how long the top-ranked articles are, and much more.

Make Competitive Analysis:

Do competitor analysis to learn about the keywords, best-performing sites, backlinks, and other aspects of your rivals' online presence. This data will direct your article's outline and assist you in selecting what to include and what to leave out. To filter and choose the most pertinent keywords and subjects for your writing, combine this analysis with Semrush or other tools.

Break down it: To do this, use H-tags.

With all of the material ready, it's time to organize it and use headline tags to build your content outline. Your content's structure is created using h tags. They have a number between 1 and 6.

The name or title of your material is the H1 tag. An H1 tag is the most significant heading, and each post will only have one.

Subheadings called H2 tags are then utilized to divide your text into logical chunks.

Going one step further, H3 tags let you make your material more clear.

By providing the finer features of the information, the H4, H5, and H6 tags aid in its organization.

Depending on how long your post is, choose how many photographs to use.

If you are not able to make photos or locate them online, you can assign this task to a graphic designer by providing them with a detailed description of what you need in an image brief.

Interlinking is the process of connecting one of your pages to another within a website. It’s a good practice to write a blog for your website to provide knowledge about the other articles you wrote for visitors.

You are in charge of your blog's internal linking structure since you are in charge of your website. Because of the way search engines operate, this is significant for traffic.

Make sure the search engines can access every page of your blog if you want them to rank every one of them.
